SURABI (Strategic Urban Rural Advancement Backing Institute) is the registered NGO of the Salesian Province of Chennai for holistic Education, Skilling and Empowering Projects and Programs in 13 districts of Northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. We are part of the Salesians network operating in 11 other Salesian Provinces in India cutting across all 29 Indian states committed to ending injustice, poverty and equality. We are directly cooperating with 51 Salesian establishments. In the year 1988, the Salesians of Chennai Province initiated the steps to establish a Development Project Office. The motive was to assist the province to realize the Capacity Building and the Developmental needs of the Province through fundraising, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting. The SURABI Trust was legally Registered on 14 February 2003. We have been managing numerous projects in the field of holistic quality education, skill – and awareness building as well as empowerment programs for children and youth, women and the discriminated and marginalized communities. Registered under Indian Trust Act Reg. No. 113 of  2003, 80G, 12AA, CSR, FCRA.
